About SPS

The School of Prime Systems is a private institution that operates a full academic program ranging from Nursery to 12th Grade. The school was established in 1978, and began with 12 pioneering students.

The School of Prime Systems(SPS), is committed to educating the youth in the Republic of Liberia, West Africa, by academically “Sculpturing the Minds, physically developing their bodies and emotionally strengthening their souls.” This mission was established against the backdrop that SPS was designed to be a leading private school with a goal to uphold and provide academic excellence, resources, skills, values and all activities necessary to make the school a prime provider of quality education in the country. As a result, there is an influx of students who reside 35 miles from the SPS Campus, that take advantage of the school’s bus system.

The vision of the school is to produce students who will be successful in their academic testing arena (WASSEC, SAT), as well as their work and social ethics. It seeks to improve youth to becoming valuable community members. Its core value includes academic excellence, transparency, discipline and equal opportunity for all.

SPS closed its academic doors in May 1990, due to the Civil War. In an effort to revive the operations of SPS and to continue the SPS tradition of quality educational services to children, the Board of the School of Prime System s agreed to commence its “2nd generation” educational journey for the   2005-2006 School Year, under the Directorship of Mrs. Debbie T. Scott-Caranda, Proprietress. The school reopened in 2005 and has since moved back to its 5-acre campus located in Paynesville, Montserrado County.

The School  has had  9(nine)  12th grade graduations (2009-2017) and is ranked as one of the best schools in Liberia with WAEC pass ratings ranging from 80% – 100%.

Professional development is the development of a person in his or her professional role. At SPS, professional workshops  are designed to improve the quality of teaching which will in turn enhance their delivery to the students.

These workshops provide opportunities for active/hands-on learning, content knowledge and strategies, as well as emphasize the overall idea of being a team player.
